In reply to Justin. There are a lot of films by female directors that show unnecessary nudity (also child-nudity) so why are you lying and what is even your point? Why do you need to bring gender to this topic? I mean, what have men even done to you? PS: You're definitely prude, you're lying about that, too,

Wasn’t bonkers about this one. Those ghastly 80s synth stabs, she was in the “ice palace” wandering around for an eternity and the metaphor was a little grating. I’m no prude, it was a different age, but the camera was prurient and the nudity unnecessary. I can’t believe a female director would have shot the girls this way.

enjoyed the novel a while ago but the movie disappointed me – too sentimental, although the choice of music and particularly its almost constant presence in the film certainly affected my impressions. i would have liked to have seen the film without any music, which i think would have far better complemented the spirit of the story.

I’ve waited so long for this, especially in good quality. Not many people will give this film its deserved credit but it’s really one of the best fims ever and has one of the most unique atmospheres I’ve ever seen in a film.
The book is great, too, btw. Thanks for this.
