When I was in school, we certainly weren’t anywhere as rowdy as these kids. I definitely don’t think that a young boy like Mathew would be familiar with a song like he sang!!! Most of the adults had serious emotional problems. The most sensible adult was the fellow who was talking to his son while shaving. When I was a young schoolboy, I was always trying to see how girls looked ‘down there’ also, and did get caught once. The bathroom scene was the cutest, until the principal showed up and showed how sick he was.

An absolutely wonderful little film. The kids were really great. I laughed a lot during this. It was very interesting how the attitudes of the adults, and the way they treated their children, were so varied. This was really great.

An astonishing find. I’ve heard about this for years. Sad we won’t know what Frederick Elmes’ photography looked like, as no prints or the negatives exist anymore
