Interesting back story, too (shot simultaneously with the fairly lousy Western “Blue” — Terence Stamp and Ricardo Montalban thus spring up uncredited). I understand Burt thought rather highly of this. And he should have. He gives a fine, soulful performance, as does Barbara “Wanda” Loden. So strange Jud Taylor took the Alan Smithee nom-de-plum since this is pretty clearly the best thing he ever did.
