All the leads are wonderful characters, even the fiancee of our hero is treated with dignity. Movies like this deserve my deepest appreciation.

This movie is 72 (!) years old and like a time-capsule into an era lang gone by. Even if life was not as beautiful then as shown in this fable it certainly was less hectic and people treated each other with more respect and honesty.

A gem, easily 10/10.
