also starring the brilliantly sensitive Deborah Kerr. This film is better than
its lurid title suggests, Kerr and Holden are both excellent, as is the
scene-stealing Thelma Ritter in one of her best roles. Ignore the critics
on this one, they always downgrade romance and prefer to see slush.
And the film says a lot about the after-effects of war on men, unusual
for the 1950s. See it if you can.
