My late mother , Olivia P Shaw , and her childhood friend Mrs.Vera Eubanks, both had brief extra appearances. My mother does a walk by scene , in the beginning , and Mrs. Eubanks, appears , playing the piano and leading the gospel choir , in the live church scene. Vera Eubanks passed away, recently ,May 2024. She is the mother of jazz greats Kevin , Duane, and Robin Eubanks.

I’d been desperate to see it for a while. A lot of people were saying it was the trickiest Sidney Poitier movie to get hold of at the time. I got hold of it through a friend in Canada who got hold of it for me. The plot reminded me a lot of ODD MAN OUT, with additional racial and urban themes thrown in. Enjoyed it on the whole and have been eager to see it again – thanks to you, I can now give it that re-watch!
