My uncle died manning a hose on a sister ship, the USS Isherwood, hit by a
kamikazi. He was a gunner who left his battlestation trying to stop the
fire which caused a charge to explode. He was one of ten men on the
hose who were killed.

Did not see the number on the ship so the real name remains a mystery.
