Comencini and Sordi at their best. Sordi soars. Apparently he wouldn’t speak English on the set. Old matriarch BD was squirming with anger which no doubt heightened the tension in the scenes at the card table. A cutting commentary on American imperialism done as always with Comencini’s acidic wit and cutting satire. Thanks Jon, more Comencini and Sordi please, together or apart.
